BMW admits that there is no replacing a legend, but you can pay your respects to it. To celebrate the iconic BMW 325is and 333i BMW South Africa restored an example of both in 2018 and you can watch the video below to remind yourself of why these 1980’s 6-cylinder compact sedans are so widely loved:

We’ve all come to know and love the E30 BMW 3 Series as the ‘Gusheshe’ and the local arm of BMW continues to celebrate it by launching this limited-run BMW 330is Edition. Only 230 will be made available all exclusively for the South African market. This special model is powered by a 190 kW 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine. Thanks to a twin-scroll turbocharger the dash from 0-100 km/h is over only in just 5.8 seconds. It’s the same motor that impressed us in the regular BMW 330i and that by no means a bad thing.

The BMW 330is Edition is equipped with an M Sport package and 20-inch M Performance wheels that cover four-piston fixed callipers at the front and single-piston floating callipers at the rear all coated in blue with the M logo. The model also includes a host of other M Performace parts including an aerodynamic kit with front splitter, side skirts coated in the chosen body colour. An M Performance boot spoiler and an M Performance exhaust are added too for a sportier look.

The regular 3 Series Sport Line on standard suspension is the segment leader in terms of balancing dynamics and comfort so the 330is Edition with the 10 mm lower Adaptive M suspension should allow for an even better ride all round.

The BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line add to the car is inspired by the BMW 325i Shadow Line introduced in 1985 and offers extended features that also includes a black grille and darkened interior headlights. Each BMW 330is Edition also carries an authentic boot badge unique to the vehicle.

On the inside, model-specific touches include Edition doorsills on the front passenger and driver side and ‘Vernasca’ Black leather with decorative stitching cover the seats. Further more, M branded seat belts and steering wheel as well as ambient interior lighting, an anthracite roof lining, a glass sliding sunroof and a Harman Kardon Surround Sound system complete the package.

The BMW 330is Edition will hit showrooms from R899 000.
