As a German luxury automaker and market leader in the luxury segment, BMW certainly continue to work on improving some of their models that should immediately get updates for upcoming models. The BMW X3 is one of the few models that are included in the important list to enhanced.

Two months ago, the facelifted 2015 BMW X3 has been spotted undergoing testing by using slightly camouflage and spy shots have been posted on some great sites on the internet. According to some reports, the second-generation BMW X3 will not get many changes both in terms of exterior and interior design, considering the second-gen X3 with a F25 platform has been introduced in the United States in 2010 as a 2011 model year.

However, we believe it’s just a facelift and refreshment, although other rumors indicate that the BMW X3 will get a redesign for the 2015 model year. It was also evidenced by the X3 prototype that looks just carry minor changes when the SUV undergoing testing two months ago, including revised front & rear bumpers and new side sills.

In addition, the 2015 BMW X3 is expected to get a redesigned exhaust system, new LED lights and revised internal structure of the lights. BMW gives more sports styling on the X3 black M Sport models such as installing larger air intakes and makes the front/rear bumper design to be more aggressive than the base model.

M Sport package will add some special equipment to this new model, including sports bodykit package, sports suspension, 18-inch M Sport alloy wheels and chrome tailpipes. The interior will benefit from some updates features provided by BMW such as revised navigation system, updated iDrive system and BMW ConnectedDrive features.

Unfortunately, the latest facelifted models will likely not get a change in terms of the engine lineup. The base model “xDrive28i” will still be powered by a new 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine and no increase in power output and torque, especially for the U.S.-spec models. The xDrive28i variant can develop a maximum output up to 240 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 260 lb-ft of torque at 1,250 – 4,800 rpm.

While the 2015 BMW X3 xDrive35i is likely to retain a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine that can deliver 300 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 300 lb-ft of torque at 1,300 – 5,000 rpm. Unlike the U.S. market, several diesel engine options will be available in the European market when this new models hitting dealerships in the first half of next year.

The entry-level diesel model will be equipped with a 2.0-liter diesel engine that offers two different outputs – 141 horsepower and 181 horsepower. A more powerful diesel version will be available in a 3.0-liter diesel engine with two different outputs – 254 horsepower and 309 horsepower.

2015 BMW X3 release date is scheduled for next summer

As for release date, the 2015 BMW X3 is likely to be released in the U.S. market next summer and is expected to go on sale with a base price around $40,000. The new model is expected to start at £29,000 in the UK market. Pricing details and full specifications will be announced closer to the X3 release date.
